AppSense and Nutanix: Better Together
*This post originally appeared on the AppSense blog prior to the rebrand in January 2017, when AppSense, LANDESK, Shavlik, Wavelink, and HEAT Software merged under the new name Ivanti.
It’s all about the End User; if IT can’t offer a superior solution to the Doctor hurrying from one patient to the next, to the Teacher, struggling to manage overfilled classrooms, to the Banker trying to trade just that little bit more efficiently than his competitor, then we might as well pack up and go pound sand! AppSense has been testing our DesktopNow software on the new Nutanix Acropolis hypervisor and we’re delighted to say it looks terrific.
It’s all about the End User. Together, Nutanix and AppSense have built an amazing joint track record, helping organizations worldwide optimize key elements of desktop user experience–from compute, to storage, to granular personalization and control of the desktop environment. Nutanix’s Acropolis hypervisor further extends our joint value into some exciting new areas. We’ve been testing our DesktopNow software on it, and we’re confident it’s going to be a game-changer.
Most Virtual Desktop and Application Virtualization projects fail because the end-user is stymied in their ability to get their job done. They need a simple upgrade from what’s working now (or at least it does the job) to what they have been told will work better for the future… and you had better be delivering a superior performance! Discerning customers and partners like API Systems of Morris Plains, are using AppSense and Nutanix together to ensure successful VDI implementations.
With Nutanix’s converged infrastructure we are seeing customers achieve remarkable gains in speed of implementation, number of use cases supported, and flexibility of deployment configurations. With AppSense, logon times drop, issues with roaming evaporate, printer and network settings just work, and BYOD is enabled without compromising security and compliance. IT’s productivity improves because there are fewer gold images to manage, server-based applications run more consistently and reliably, and support calls drop.
AppSense is frankly agnostic about the underlying hypervisor, that’s just infrastructure! And with Nutanix we can get on with the important business of delivering a superior running desktop and set of virtualized applications to our customers – the end-users who are screaming for improved productivity.
Congratulations and thanks to Nutanix for once again raising the bar on infrastructure for Virtualization that is simple to use (Prism) and cost effective for performance (Acropolis); so we just don’t have to worry about it anymore… it just works!
