Personalization Standard Microsoft Roaming Profiles present performance and data corruption challenges and offer no cross-platform support: Microsoft User Environment Virtualization is an improvement but lacks Ivanti’s automated control, performance, , and scalability. VMware UEM offers a core set of personalization capabilities, but lacks Ivanti personalization’s granularity and deployment flexibility. It relies on Microsoft GPOs, which results in much slower logon times than Ivanti personalization Citrix Profile Management offers a core set of personalization capabilities, but lacks Ivanti personalization’s granularity and deployment flexibility. As it relies on standard file shares, enterprise scalability is affected Ivanti sets the industry standard for on-demand desktop and application personalization, with unsurpassed granularity. Utilizing web server technology it’s 100% cloud ready and proven to scale.
Policy Standard Microsoft Group Policy Objects are more complex to manage at scale and lack the granularity and context-awareness of Ivanti policies. As they apply in sequence, this can adversely affect logon times too. VMware offers desktop policy capabilities which are highly dependent on Microsoft Group Policy and thus cannot match Ivanti’s granularity, performance and scalability. Citrix Workspace Environment Management offers entry-level policy management providing limited flexibility Ivanti’s policy engine dynamically adapts desktop configuration based on IT-defined policies and user context. It’s unique multi-threaded engine provides the fastest possible logon times.
Security & Compliance Windows’ out of the box privilege capabilities are very coarse; either users’ productivity suffers due to strict lockdown or endpoint security is at risk because users have more privileges than they need;  AppLocker provides basic application control but is simple to bypass and can affect performance. VMware does not offer privilege management or application control capabilities. Citrix Workspace Environment Management provides entry-level blacklisting that can be easily bypassed.

It offers no Windows privilege management capabilities.

File Access & Migration Microsoft OneDrive is not a native workspace solution. Users are forced to work from a single folder which alters their workflow and behaviors.

In addition, OneDrive is 100% cloud based and does not provide access to existing on-premises shares.

 VMware AirWatch offers a secure file Content Locker data synchronization product but lacks User Workspace Management integration and the ability to integrate seamlessly with on-premises storage. Citrix ShareFile is not a native workspace solution. Users are forced to work from a single folder which alters their workflow and behaviors.

ShareFile can provide access to on-premises data, but requires dedicated storage for this.

Analytics Microsoft’s analytics and reporting capabilities do not provide insight focused on end user computing optimization. VMware does not offer User Workspace Management reporting and analytics capabilities. Citrix Director provides a comprehensive view of Citrix workspaces but lacks simplicity in terms of quick access to crucial metrics.
