Ivanti Device Control 5.1 Update 3 is available now
We’ve addressed a host of customer-reported bugs and added new features, too!
Ivanti strives always to respond to our customers’ needs and feedback with action. Ivanti Device Control lives up to that tradition, addressing 16 customer-reported bugs in this latest release while adding new features as well:
- The Portable Device class now supports file-type filtering—which means you can set individual access policies by file type (.pdf, .doc, or .xls, for example) for devices like mobile phones.
- Device Control can log an event when encrypted media, such as a USB key, is unlocked—In turn, you can use this event to trigger actions on the endpoint automatically.
- We’ve added support for Windows 10 version 1809, Windows Server 2019, and version 7.18 of Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop.

IDENTITY & AUTOMATION
Identity Director 2019.0 makes life easier
Release 2019.0 addresses some of our customer requested features and enhancements to make life easier for administrators. Read the highlights below.
Data connection mapping capabilities enhanced
This enhancement allows you to go beyond 1:1 relationships. Until now you’ve mapped one data field only to a Person attribute or identifier. Now, it’s possible to combine data source fields into one Person Attribute/identifier. You’ll get the flexibility you need to use the data from authoritative sources within Identity Director, to better meet your business needs.
Difference, Intersect, and Union functions added
We’ve improved the ability to report across a set of common elements, in a set of values by adding the functions, difference, intersect, and union. Administrators can now create smarter audit reports and better support access reviews by extracting more useful sets of data.
REST API improved
Now you can obtain object information on a single call. You wanted to achieve more specific results on returned searches first time without affecting performance, well now you can.
Workday Integration feature preview
Now it’s easier to work with one of the most popular HR systems on the market. Gone are the days of exporting data from Workday into a CSV file for import into Identity Director. 2019.0 introduces native data source integration for Workday, enabling you to skip any intermediary steps and directly connect to Workday as an authoritative source.
Password reset content update – Get an updated Password Director reset guide available on the Marketplace. With this guide users can install example password services to enroll and configure password reset services in Password & Identity Director. These examples and guide are provided to jumpstart the customization of your solution to meet your organizations individual needs.

IT SERVICE MANAGEMENT
Ivanti Service Manager 2018.3.1 On Premises Release
More UI enhancements, Workflow Designer update and RESTful API information
The latest version of Ivanti Service Manager for On Premises is now available for download. This 2018.3.1 release delivers several new UI enhancements to improve the users experience, improvements to the Workflow designer, information on RESTful APIs, and password management and session control updates to meet FedRAMP requirements.
If you’ve been enjoying the UI enhancements delivered in the previous Service Manager releases, then you’ll love what the team has developed for you. Tell your designers about the updates in Service Manager’s Workflow Designer, including Workflow bloc icons, easier grouping of workflow blocks and color-based legend for different types of workflow blocks. With these updates, it’s now easier for a designer to see what type of action is being included, as well as better visibility to understanding what is happening in the overall workflow. End result is faster workflow design and a better experience from your designers.
Want to make it even easier to find answers in Service Manager? Your users can now take advantage of auto-complete and auto-suggest for search; just start typing and the system will start presenting suggested results. This new search capability is available within many areas of Service Manager, such as the Knowledge base, available Service Requests and FAQs.
Service Manager’s integration story gets better with the addition of RESTful web services. Service Manager supported SOAP capabilities and supported out-bound web services, but now adds support for in-bound actions for web service calls. Along with Zapier, Ivanti Automation and the existing APIs, this provides more integration options for your operations.
2018.3.1 also adds a number of enhancements to password management and session control for Service Manager to improve its security. Now your admins can better manage Service Manager sessions and also licenses by ‘flagging’ and removing users who no longer use Service Manager, making it easy to automatically de-activate and remove these ‘zombie’ users. These enhancements were developed to meet FedRAMP requirements but are available to all Service Manager clients.

End User License Agreement Update for Service Manager Cloud
Update will require administrator acceptance
We want to make you aware of an upcoming change to the End User License Agreement (EULA) for Ivanti Service Manager in the Cloud. More communications and information, including an FAQ, will be available before these changes take effect in the coming weeks but we wanted to give you advanced notice of the coming update.
Part of the EULA update will require acceptance of the EULA by one of your Administrators. Only a user logged in as an administrative user will see the updated EULA and will be prompted to accept it. The EULA will only need to be accepted once for your Service Manager Cloud instance and should not impede your ongoing use of Service Manager in the Cloud.
We’ll be providing more information on the EULA changes and processes before the changes take effect. As always, Ivanti recommends reading the EULA in its entirety prior to accepting.
